Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham and Buxton Opera House, in association with Mark Goucher and David Pugh, have announced a major new tour of The Full Monty, opening in Sheffield on 15 January 2027.
The production will then visit cities across the UK, with full tour details available on the official website.
Simon Beaufoy’s stage adaptation follows an ordinary group of men determined to reclaim their dignity in tough economic times.
The story remains strikingly relevant as Gaz and his friends find themselves grappling with a fresh cost of living crisis.
Simon Beaufoy said: “A lot has changed in Britain since The Full Monty appeared thirty years ago. What hasn’t changed is our need for laughter, compassion and dignity. I’m so delighted the Monty Men are back on the road with all their flaws, jokes and wobbly bits, bringing a bit of much-needed joy to audiences once again.”
The production promises the same mix of comedy and heart that made the 1997 film a global success.
Audiences can expect iconic 90s music and the uplifting story of a group of men preparing to put on the show of their lives.
The Full Monty is directed by Michael Gyngell, with choreography and intimacy direction by Ian West.
Set and costume design is by Jasmine Swann, lighting design by Andrew Exeter and sound design by Chris Whybrow.
Casting is by Marc Frankum, with star casting to be announced.
