Timpson The Musical to Have Final Outing at Stockwell Playhouse

Following a smashing success at the Edinburgh Fringe 2018 and on tour in 2019, Gigglemug Theatre bring their ‘sharp, catchy’ new musical back to London for the final performance of Timpson The Musical. Sponsored by Timpson Ltd. themselves,

Two warring houses. One ancient grudge. A whole lot of shoes.

Can the warring houses of Montashoe and Keypulet be united by a pair of star-crossed lovers? Journey to Victorian London where Monty Montashoe and Keeleigh Keypulet, two young inventors bursting with ambition, strive to break free from their humdrum lives and follow their dreams all the way to the 50th annual ‘Invention Convention’!

Gigglemug Theatre’s debut musical explaining the origins of the high street cobbler’s ‘Timpson’ is guaranteed hilarity for any ‘quality service person’.

★★★★★ ‘Brilliantly funny and unique musical filled with blistering wit and toe-tapping numbers” Theatre Weekly

The show began its life to try and answer everyones’ burning question- how did shoe repair and key cutting come together under one room to form the high street shop ‘Timpson’. Cochrane and Baker decided that rather than leave this question unanswered, they would write a musical about it. Flash forward over a year and this ‘zany, musical comedy’ has delighted audiences across the country and we are extremely excited to be bringing it back to London for its final performance and to create a live cast recording of the show.

Timpson The Musical, with Book and Lyrics by Sam Cochrane and Chris Baker and Music by Tom Slade and Theo Caplan, is at Stockwell Playhouse 30th August – 1st September 2019.
