The critically acclaimed musical parody Unfortunate: The Untold Story of Ursula the Sea Witch will transfer to London’s The Other Palace from Friday 6 February 2026 for a strictly limited season until Sunday 5 April 2026.

Following a Christmas run at The Lowry, this revamped production promises to be “newer, better, ruder and shorter,” featuring a brand-new set and costumes, fresh jokes, new characters, and a revised running time of two hours including an interval.

When Disney released The Little Mermaid in 1989, Ursula became an icon: loud, clever, sexy, and unapologetically plus-sized. This musical dives into her backstory with a filthy pop soundtrack, beloved characters as you’ve never seen them before, and enough eco-friendly glitter to keep audiences sparkling all the way home.

First premiering at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019, Unfortunate has enjoyed sold-out runs in Birmingham, London, and on a six-month UK tour. A Swedish-language production is currently running in Linköping.

The show features book and lyrics by Robyn Grant and Daniel Foxx, music by Tim Gilvin, and direction by Robyn Grant. The creative team includes Jasmine Swan (set and costume design), Melody Sinclair-Marsh (choreography), and Laura Cubitt (puppetry and movement direction).
