Vanessa Williams and Matt Henry will leave The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical at the Dominion Theatre later this year, bringing their acclaimed runs as Miranda Priestly and Nigel to a close.
Williams, best known for Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives, will give her final performance as the formidable Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly on 19 September 2026. Matt Henry MBE, who plays Runway’s Creative Fashion Director Nigel, will depart the production on 17 October 2026.
The producers have confirmed that casting for their successors will be announced at a later date. The departures mark the end of a celebrated chapter for the musical, which has become the fastest-selling show in the Dominion Theatre’s history since opening in the West End in December 2024.
The current cast also includes Stevie Doc as aspiring journalist Andy, Taila Halford as Miranda’s ambitious first assistant Emily, Keelan McAuley as Nate, and Dominic Andersen as journalist Christian.
Since its West End premiere, The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical has proved a major hit with audiences, combining Elton John’s music with a story inspired by Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel and the hit 2006 film.
The production recently released its Original Cast Recording, featuring two previously unheard Elton John demos, and the album reached number one among new releases on the compilations chart.
The musical follows Andy, a recent graduate who lands a coveted job at Runway magazine under the demanding Miranda Priestly. As she becomes immersed in the glamorous fashion world, she must decide how much she is willing to sacrifice in pursuit of success.
The show features music by Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, a book by Kate Wetherhead, and direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell. The creative team also includes Tim Hatley, Gregg Barnes, Bruno Poet, Gareth Owen and casting director Jill Green CDG.
Produced by Kevin McCollum, David Furnish and Jamie Wilson in association with Theatre Royal Plymouth, The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical is currently booking at the Dominion Theatre until 6 February 2027.
