A new production of Trompe l’Oeil, the musical by Henry Parkman Biggs, has announced casting for its exclusive season at Contact Manchester, running from 18 April to 2 May 2026.

The show arrives in the UK following a completely sold out run in St Louis and previous productions in London and off Broadway. This refreshed version promises a fast paced 70 minute journey through a surreal reimagining of The Wizard of Oz, set against the shifting political landscape of the 2015 to 2016 Obama and Trump transition.

Leading the cast is RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Veronica Green, who takes on the role of Demi. She is joined by Kemi Clarke as Bannon, Joe Pieri as RIP, Phoebe Garr as Ivanka, Nathan Hobley Smith as Jared Kushner, Harry Privett as Chateau Lafitte and The FOP, Caitlin Gorman as Trump, Ava Fletcher as Ma Kettle, Ashley Luke Lloyd as Pavlov, Sarah Louise as Putin and Tom Pigram as Millier. The production is directed by Kate Salmon.

Creator Henry Parkman Biggs said: “I could not be more thrilled about this entire cast. From top to bottom they are simply dripping awesomeness. To have no less than Veronica Green headlining the show sends us over the top. I have no doubt this group will bring the house down like no other. Fasten your seatbelts!”

Trompe l’Oeil blends queer theatre, circus acrobatics and satirical storytelling. The musical follows an American drag queen venturing through a magical world where art and politics collide, delivering comedy, spectacle and pointed social commentary. The lyrics are written with hidden messages embedded into the songs to heighten the story’s impact.
