The theatrical charity Acting for Others has announced that its fifth annual West End Flea Market raised over £110,000, making it the most successful edition of the event to date.
Held on Saturday 17 May at St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden, the market drew large crowds of theatre lovers and supporters.
Sir Stephen Waley-Cohen, Co-Chairman of Acting for Others, said:
“We are delighted that the West End Flea Market is going from strength to strength and the wonderful amount raised, which is significantly higher than previous years. Thank you to everyone that attended, supported, and made the event so successful.”
This year, The Book of Mormon was crowned Best Dressed Stall, judged by Christopher Biggins, Dame Arlene Phillips and Janie Dee. Their stall featured exclusive show props, memorabilia, and a game of ‘Spooky Mormon Hoopla’ where fans could win selfies or signed polaroids.
Other participating shows included Back to The Future, Cabaret at The Kit Kat Club, Clueless, Hadestown, Hamilton, Les Misérables, Mamma Mia, Mean Girls, Moulin Rouge, Operation Mincemeat, Phantom of The Opera, SIX, The Devil Wears Prada, The Lightning Thief, The Mousetrap, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical, Titanique, and many more.
The event also featured attractions such as a tombola, theatrical memorabilia, games, and food stalls, with support from Go Live Theatre Projects and West End Charity Football Club.
Fans had the chance to meet and take selfies with stars including Bronté Barbé, Luke Bayer, Joanne Clifton, Alfred Enoch, Clare Foster, Shanay Holmes, Derek Jacobi, Cassidy Janson, Alexia Khadime, Robert Lindsay, Simon Lipkin, Lucy Moss, Natalie Paris, Giles Terera, Rachel Tucker, and many others.
