Republic Records and Verve Records have announced the release of Wicked: For Good – The Soundtrack, the musical companion to the epic conclusion of Universal Pictures’ global cinematic phenomenon.
The soundtrack will be released on November 21, coinciding with the film’s theatrical debut.
Pre-orders are now available, with the album featuring two brand-new original songs: “No Place Like Home” performed by Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, and “The Girl In The Bubble” performed by Ariana Grande as Glinda.
Also included is “The Wicked Witch of the East”, a previously unreleased track not featured on the original Broadway cast recording.
Stephen Schwartz, the Grammy and Oscar®-winning composer and lyricist behind the music, said:
“I’m especially happy that the soundtrack album for Wicked: For Good has so much new music on it. In addition to two brand new songs, there is a lot that’s new in several other existing songs. So not only listeners coming to the score for the first time, but long-time fans of the original Broadway cast album, will have a great deal to discover.”
The soundtrack will be available in multiple formats including CD, double vinyl, double picture disc, and digital.
The film stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum. Directed by Jon M. Chu, the story follows Elphaba and Glinda as they reunite to face the consequences of their choices and change Oz forever.
