From 8 July, audiences around the world can stream the critically acclaimed A Tupperware of Ashes by Tanika Gupta on National Theatre at Home.

Described by The Guardian as a “searing production” ★★★★, the play stars Olivier Award-nominated Meera Syal in a “especially potent” (★★★★★ WhatsOnStage) performance as Queenie, a Michelin-Star chef grappling with memory loss and the shifting dynamics of her family.

As Queenie’s children—Raj, Gopal and Kamala—begin to notice her fading grip on reality, they are forced to confront a devastating decision. The play explores themes of duty, identity, and the emotional toll of caregiving.

Directed by Pooja Ghai, Artistic Director of Tamasha Theatre Company, the production features original music by Nitin Sawhney and was filmed at the National Theatre’s Dorfman Theatre.

The cast includes Raj Bajaj, Natalie Dew, Marc Elliott, Stephen Fewell, Shobna Gulati, Avita Jay and Zubin Varla. The production is available to stream with captions and Audio Description.
