Last 5 years Edinburgh Fringe

Last 5 years Edinburgh Fringe

Caitlin Tipping and Connor Burnett will play Cathy and Jamie respectively in a new production of Jason Robert Brown’s musical, The Last Five Years. The show, about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, is renowned for its unconventional structure – Cathy tells her story backwards while Jamie tells his one chronologically. The two characters meet once only, in the middle of the show.

The Last Five Years will be directed by Gerard Bentall, with Musical Direction by Sam Coates and Sound and Light Design by Dickson Cossar.

Recently graduated from The MGA Academy of Performing Arts, Caitlin Tipping has played roles from Elle Woods in Legally Blonde to Carmen Diaz in Fame and performed previously at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with the award-winning production of The Great American Trailer Park. During her training, Caitlin has also performed in Bring It On, Dames At Sea, A Christmas Wish, The Happy Journey To Trenton and Camden and Edinburgh performances of Cilla – The Musical (UK Tour) as well as in a number of corporate events with Beyond Broadway Productions and Rapport Entertainment.

Connor Burnett gained his HND in Musical Theatre from New College Lanarkshire, Motherwell. He then went on to complete his training at The MGA Academy of Performing Arts where he graduated in June this year. Credits whilst in training include Chip Tolentino in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Sy Benson in My Favourite Year, Understudy Dick in Dames at Sea, Featured Soloist in An Evening with Johnathan Reid Gealt as well as performing as a leading vocalist in various corporate events with Beyond Broadway Productions.

The Last Five Years is being produced by Q Productions. Originally produced for the stage by Arielle Tepper and Marty Bell, originally produced by Northlight Theatre, Chicago, USA. Performed by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe) Limited.
