FLYBY, a daring new musical by Theo Jamieson, directed and co-created by Adam Lenson, will have its world premiere at Southwark Playhouse Borough on Friday 3 April 2026. The production runs until Saturday 16 May 2026, with a press night on Thursday 9 April 2026.

The musical was originally developed in 2025 by the National Theatre. It blends an intimate love story with the isolating enormity of space, following Daniel, a brilliant but volatile engineer who vanishes into the void, and Emily, a documentary filmmaker with a turbulent past.

As the narrative moves between past and present, the story explores the forces that drive Daniel and Emily apart and pull them back together. Their relationship, his psychological decline and her struggle to define herself form the emotional core of the piece.

Poppy Gilbert plays Emily, with Stuart Thompson as Daniel. The cast also includes Gina Beck as Amy Greenwood, Rupert Young as Jonathan Jay and Simbi Akande as Grace Adams.

The creative team features set designer Libby Todd and lighting designer Ben Jacobs, working alongside Jamieson and Lenson.
