Freckle Productions has announced full casting for Stick Man as the much-loved stage adaptation celebrates its 15th annual festive season in London, embarks on its first Christmas season in Sheffield, and prepares for international performances in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s bestselling book, Stick Man returns to the Bloomsbury Theatre from 3 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. The production will also play at The Montgomery in Sheffield from 5 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, marking the show’s first festive run in the city.
The London cast will feature Wills Mercado as Stick Man, Lalany Samuel as Stick Lady Love, Liam Bradbury as Actor Muso and Erin Rowlett as Swing.
In Sheffield, Sam Makepeace-Beach will play Stick Man alongside Freya Stephenson as Stick Lady Love, Toby Baddeley as Actor Muso and Rosie Malone as Swing and Resident Director.
Following the UK runs, the Sheffield company will also perform at KidsFest in Hong Kong and Singapore in February 2027.
The family favourite follows Stick Man’s journey as a simple morning jog turns into an extraordinary adventure. Along the way he is mistaken for a toy, used in a swan’s nest and even ends up on a fire, all while trying to make it home to the family tree in time for Christmas.
Featuring puppetry, songs, live music and plenty of festive fun, the production has become a seasonal tradition for families, earning acclaim during its annual Christmas outings.

Stick Man is directed by Mark Kane, with original direction by Sally Cookson. The creative team also includes designer Katie Sykes, lighting designer Elanor Higgins, composer Benji Bower and musical director Brian Hargreaves.
Since its publication in 2007, Stick Man has become one of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s most popular creations. The story was adapted into an animated television film by Magic Light Pictures in 2015 and continues to be a festive favourite with family audiences.
