Jinkx Monsoon will make her West End debut this summer, reprising her critically acclaimed performance as Mary Todd Lincoln in the Olivier Award-winning comedy Oh, Mary!.

The Tony Award-winning production will welcome Monsoon to Trafalgar Theatre for a strictly limited six-week run from 17 August to 26 September 2026.

Monsoon previously sold out an eight-week Broadway run in the role, followed by an encore engagement that was hailed by The New York Times as one of the Best Performances of 2025.

The smash hit play by Tony Award-winner Cole Escola, directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Pinkleton, has recently extended its West End run and is now booking until 2 January 2027.

Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy that reimagines the final weeks of Mary Todd Lincoln’s life, exploring her frustrations, desires and struggles in the lead up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.

The production has been widely celebrated, with The New York Times declaring it “one of the best comedies in years”.

On Broadway, the show won Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play for Cole Escola and Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton, alongside multiple Drama League Awards and a nomination for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Monsoon is currently appearing in London as Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow at Soho Theatre Walthamstow, and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting comedic performers of her generation.

Variety praised her performance in Oh, Mary! as a “triumph” adding, “Broadway should be honoured to have her gracing the boards, as she is sure to be canonized as one of the all-time comedy greats.”

The current West End cast of Oh, Mary! features Catherine Tate as Mary Todd Lincoln, alongside Kate O’Donnell, Oliver Stockley, Dino Fetscher and Scott Karim.

Tate’s final performance will take place on 18 July, with playwright Cole Escola returning to the role for a limited engagement before Monsoon takes over in August.

Since its premiere off-Broadway in 2024, Oh, Mary! has enjoyed an acclaimed Broadway transfer and a successful West End debut, breaking box office records and playing to sold-out audiences.
