The original West End cast of The Comedy About Spies will return to the Adelphi Theatre this summer for a strictly limited eight week run.
Playing from 1 August to 26 September 2026, the hit comedy is joined by original Mischief member Bryony Corrigan, who will play Elena Popova.
The returning cast includes David Hearn, Adele James, Chris Leask, Henry Lewis, Henry Shields, Greg Tannahill and Nancy Zamit, alongside a full ensemble.
The production follows a critically acclaimed and sold out 21 week West End run in 2025, earning the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Play and an Olivier Award nomination for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play.
Written by Henry Lewis and Henry Shields and directed by Matt DiCarlo, the comedy centres on a rogue British agent who steals plans for a top secret weapon, prompting CIA and KGB spies to converge on London’s Piccadilly Hotel.
Chaos ensues as the story introduces a hapless actor chasing the role of James Bond, a bewildered young couple and a web of double agents.
Henry Lewis said: “We are so excited to bring The Comedy About Spies back to the West End. It’s a particular treat to be playing the magnificent Adelphi Theatre. It’s a venue synonymous with long running musicals and so we’re honored that The Comedy About Spies will be the first play presented there in over 14 years.”
The production features set design by David Farley, costume design by Deborah Andrews, movement direction by Shelley Maxwell, lighting design by Johanna Town and sound design and composition by Jon Fiber for Jollygoodtunes.
The Comedy About Spies is presented by Kenny Wax and Stage Presence in association with Jo Danvers, and continues Mischief’s run of major successes alongside The Play That Goes Wrong and new projects across stage and screen.
