New production photography has been released for the UK premiere of Clarkston, currently in previews at Trafalgar Theatre ahead of its press night on 25 September.

Starring Joe Locke (Heartstopper, Agatha All Along) in his West End debut, the cast also features Ruaridh Mollica (Sebastian, The Franchise) and Sophie Melville (The Way, Iphigenia in Splott).

Written by Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale) and directed by Jack Serio (Grangeville), Clarkston is running for a strictly limited nine-week engagement until 22 November 2025.

Production photography by Marc Brenner offers a first look at the emotionally intimate drama, which explores themes of friendship, acceptance, and self-discovery.

Joe Locke, Emmy Award-nominated for Heartstopper, recently made his Broadway debut in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He stars opposite Ruaridh Mollica, BIFA-nominated for Sebastian, and Sophie Melville, Evening Standard Award-nominated for Iphigenia in Splott.

The creative team includes Milla Clarke (set and costume design), Stacey Derosier (lighting design), George Dennis (sound design), Stuart Burt (casting), and John Baker (dramaturg). The production is executive produced and general managed by Wessex Grove.

“You have this idea in your head of the person you could be”

Clarkston follows Jake on a journey west to rediscover himself, where he meets Chris, a kindred spirit working the night shift at a rural Costco. As their bond grows, so does their sense of adventure and hope for something more.

A modern frontier story, Clarkston blazes a trail through themes of love, identity, and the pursuit of new meaning.
