The former Artistic Director of the National Theatre helms the Arthur Miller classic in a major new staging featuring an all‑star Turkish cast and an international creative team that includes Tony and Olivier Award winners.
The production opens tomorrow at Zorlu PAC, Türkiye’s largest dedicated performing arts venue, where it will run until June.
The creative team includes celebrated designer Es Devlin, whose work spans the National Theatre, the West End, and global music artists. Costumes are by Katrina Lindsay, known for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, with choreography and movement by Olivier Award winner Javier De Frutos.
Original music is composed by Oğuz Kaplangı, while sound design is by Tony Award winner Adam Cork. Lighting comes from Oliver Fenwick, with an extensive team of associate and assistant creatives supporting the production.
The cast is led by Halit Ergenç, making his first return to the stage in twenty‑five years as Willy Loman. He is joined by Zerrin Tekindor as Linda Loman, along with Fatih Artman and Kerem Arslanoğlu as Biff and Happy.
The ensemble also features Kubilay Karslıoğlu, Beyti Engin, Alize Edizyürek, Buse Kara, Defne Koldaş, İpek Türktan, Mert Aydın, Ömer Cem Çoltu, Talha Kaya, Ardel Biran, Atakan Büyükbaş, Can Çelik, Duygu Savaşçı, Fethi Arda Ergül, Gürdeniz Bursalı, Hakan Karaca, İsmail Keskin, Merve Tokgöz, Tuğçe Doygunel, Tufan Afşar, Ubey Gül and Yağmur Elif Seber.
Speaking about the process, Rufus Norris said, “This has been one of the most challenging and rewarding processes I’ve experienced, and I feel incredibly grateful to have had this opportunity. My connection to Turkey – and especially to its people – has deepened throughout this journey. What makes Death of a Salesman so powerful is its ability to reveal its characters in all their complexity, exploring memory and imagination at its core. With this production, we’ve aimed to expand the world of the play while staying true to its emotional heart, particularly in expressing the fragmentation of Willy Loman’s mind on stage. As always, my hope is that audiences fully lose themselves in the experience and leave with a lasting emotional response.”
The staging is supported by Zorlu PAC, which continues its mission to present world‑class cultural and artistic work in its thirteenth year. The venue remains a key hub for performance in Türkiye, hosting international productions and nurturing large‑scale theatrical projects.
