Sam Morrison’s hit solo show Sugar Daddy will return to London for a five-week Off-West End run at Underbelly Boulevard Soho from 5 March to 4 April 2026, with press night on 10 March.
The newly reimagined staging will be directed by British-Iraqi writer and director Amrou Al-Kadhi and produced by Edgewood Entertainment, with co-producers Alan Cumming and Billy Porter.
Al-Kadhi, author of the award-winning memoir Life as a Unicorn, brings their signature wit and emotional precision to Morrison’s deeply personal story. They said:
“I am so excited to be directing Sam and this gorgeous piece of work – equal parts hilarious, heartbreaking, original and surprising, this show intersects fascinating themes of faith, grief, sexuality and downright absurdity in ways that are going to enlighten audiences. I can’t wait to get going!”
Sugar Daddy tells Morrison’s remarkable true story of falling in love with the “silver zaddy” of his dreams one summer in Provincetown, only to lose him to COVID months later. What follows is a sharp, unruly and deeply human piece of theatre, blending grief, humour and resilience with unexpected twists – from seagull attacks to New York muggings and a surprise diabetes diagnosis.
Sam Morrison said:
“It’s such a blessing to be in a rehearsal room with Amrou and this incredible creative team! I can’t wait to discover new depths of the show together, with a fresh eye for British audiences.”
The show distils Morrison’s stand-up background (Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Drew Barrymore Show, Comedy Central) into a tightly crafted 75-minute performance. As Billy Porter puts it: “It’s BAWDY.”
Tickets range from £25 to £55 and are available now via Underbelly Boulevard Soho.
