SJT Autumn Season

A lively autumn season at Scarborough’s Stephen Joseph Theatre includes comedy, cabaret, drama and drag.

Between late September and mid-November, the theatre will welcome artists including RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jinkx Monsoon, leading UK magician and comedian Pete Firman and an adaptation of children’s favourite, Tabby McTat.

More shows for the autumn at the SJT are due to be announced soon.

From Thursday 27 to Saturday 29 September, Small Truth Theatre will present Caterpillar, a darkly funny, searing and tender drama. Bayview is the only B&B closed for business on the busiest weekend of the year in a faded seaside town – and the annual ‘Birdman’ competition is in full flight…

On Wednesday 3 October, Smashing Mirrors will present Three Emos, a new musical by Elizabeth Godber. Emos Ruth, Nat and Liv spend their days working dead-end jobs in Hull, and their nights at open mic sessions. But Nat’s gran being diagnosed with dementia takes them in a new direction…

Whatever that means…

Also on Saturday 20 October, Ensemble 360 return to the Round with a programme of music including Beethoven’s Sonata for horn and piano, Haydn’s ‘Sun’ String Quartet and Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor.
