Top Hat to Play at Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall This Christmas

The Chichester Festival Theatre production of Top Hat will bring festive sparkle to London this Christmas, with a season at Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall from 12 December 2025 to 17 January 2026.

Phillip Attmore, Clive Carter, Sally Ann Triplett, James Clyde and Alex Gibson-Giorgio will reprise their roles, with Amara Okereke joining the cast as Dale Tremont.

Tickets go on sale to Southbank Centre Members on Thursday 7 August at 10am, with general booking opening Friday 8 August at 10am.

       

Currently playing at Chichester Festival Theatre until 6 September, Top Hat will tour the UK before settling in London for the holiday season.

The tour includes stops in Woking, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Wimbledon, Canterbury, Liverpool, Cardiff, Sunderland, and Manchester, with further dates in 2026.

Fuel and Southbank Centre announce return of There’s a Bear on My Chair this Christmas

Phillip Attmore makes his UK debut as Jerry Travers. His Broadway credits include Hello, Dolly!, Shuffle Along, and On the 20th Century.

Amara Okereke joins as Dale Tremont. She won the 2018 Stage Debut Award for Les Misérables and starred in My Fair Lady, Oklahoma!, and Spring Awakening.

Clive Carter returns as Horace Hardwick. He is a three-time Olivier Award nominee for Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Come From Away, and Into The Woods.

Sally Ann Triplett plays Madge Hardwick. Her credits include Cabaret, Anything Goes, and The Witches.

       

James Clyde reprises his role as Bates, with Alex Gibson-Giorgio as Alberto Beddini. The ensemble includes Lindsay Atherton, Rhiannon Bacchus, Jeremy Batt, and more.

Based on the 1935 film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Top Hat features Irving Berlin’s iconic score including “Cheek to Cheek” and “Let’s Face the Music and Dance.”

Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, the production boasts lavish sets, stunning choreography, and vintage glamour.

Marshall is a three-time Tony Award winner and received the Olivier Award for Best Choreographer for Anything Goes in 2022.

The creative team includes Matthew White & Howard Jacques (adaptation), Peter McKintosh (set and costume design), Gareth Valentine (musical supervision), and Stephen Ridley (musical direction).

Top Hat is produced by Kenny Wax Productions and Jonathan Church Theatre Productions.
