Curve theatre has revealed its 2026 festive production, with a brand new stage adaptation of Daisy and the Trouble with Christmas set to run in the Studio Theatre from 30 November 2026 to 3 January 2027.

The Made at Curve and Rebel Sparks co-production is based on Kes Gray’s popular children’s book, with illustrations by Garry Parsons and Nick Sharratt, and promises a joyful theatrical adventure for young audiences and their families.

Adapted for the stage by Sarah Middleton, the production is co-directed by Hannah Stone and Ria Ashcroft, and features original music and lyrics by Olivier Award winner Darren Clark, with set and costume design by Abby Clarke.

The story follows Daisy and her best friend Gabby as they dive headfirst into festive chaos, guided by the idea that “The trouble with Christmas is it’s too exciting!”

Packed with humour and seasonal silliness, the show is aimed at children aged three and above, offering an accessible and engaging theatre experience for first-time visitors and returning audiences alike.

Curve continues its tradition of family-friendly adaptations, following recent successes including Aliens Love Panta Claus and The Owl Who Came for Christmas.

From 4 December, all performances will be presented in a relaxed environment, ensuring as many children and families as possible can enjoy the show, with additional captioned, BSL interpreted and audio described performances scheduled throughout the run.

Curve’s Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster said, “We are thrilled DAISY AND THE TROUBLE WITH CHRISTMAS will play in the Studio over the festive period, bringing joy and Christmas magic to young people and their families. It is wonderful our incredibly talented former Curve Resident Creatives Hannah Stone and Ria Ashcroft are returning to LE1, having shared this tremendous idea with us and developed it at Curve.

“We are incredibly grateful they have chosen Curve to present this beautiful show, adapted by local writer Sarah Middleton and featuring new music by the terrific Darren Clark. It promises to be a brilliant and fun-filled Christmas adventure.”

Open auditions for the production will be announced via Curve’s website in due course.
