The Other Palace Studio heats up this autumn with the arrival of Deep-Heat Rivalry, a new panto parody on ice from acclaimed comedy duo Trevor Ashley and Phil Scott.
Running from 11 to 27 September 2026, the production promises a riotous mix of locker room drama, forbidden romance, parody songs and high camp comedy.
Loosely inspired by a certain hit TV series, the show leans into outrageous humour with shameless innuendo, full frontal nudity and a musical score that shifts from power ballads to party pop.
At its centre are sworn enemies Shane Hollandaise and Ilya Stroganoff, two fiercely competitive and undeniably attractive hockey stars whose intense rivalry hides an unexpected truth.
Behind the clashes and bravado lies a secret neither can ignore, as they discover they are “madly, inconveniently, and spectacularly in love.”
Deep-Heat Rivalry is written by Olivier Award nominee Trevor Ashley and long-time collaborator Phil Scott, with Ashley also directing.
The pair are known for their irreverent, high camp theatrical style and a series of hit productions celebrating bold comedy and musical parody.
“Ashley and Scott aim low for their laughs, seldom straying above the waist,” (Sydney Morning Herold).
Casting is to be announced.
Audiences can expect a fast-paced, high-energy production that embraces excess, humour and theatrical spectacle in equal measure.
With passion, power plays and absolutely no subtlety, Deep-Heat Rivalry promises full-contact comedy in a high-stakes world where rivalries run deep and this one runs even hotter.
