The Thunder Girls at The Lowry

First look images have been released for The Thunder Girls. Opening this week at The Lowry, the stellar cast of The Thunder Girls includes Coleen Nolan, Coronation Street’s Beverley Callard, Carol Harrison (Eastenders; Death of a Salesman, National Theatre; Ripen Out Darkness, Royal Court), and West End musical superstar Sandra Marvin (Hairspray, Chicago, Stepping Out). The play is directed by Joyce Branagh (Kenneth Branagh’s sister) which completes the all-female creative team.

Written by Melanie Blake, one of UK’s most powerful music managers, The Thunder Girls is an adaptation of her best-selling novel based on her 20 years’ experience in the music industry where she worked with some of biggest bands of the 90s including Kylie Minogue, Destiny’s Child, All Saints and The Spice Girls, as well as managing members of super groups including Steps, Mis-Teeq, Five Star, Bros and Spandau Ballet before reforming original ‘80s girl group, The Nolans.

The Thunder Girls is at The Lowry 24th – 28th September 2019.
