The Unicorn Theatre is delighted to announce the Autumn instalment of its 2025/26 season, featuring a dynamic mix of timeless folk tales, physical comedy, and musical cheer. This season promises to explore themes of courage, creativity, and connection while celebrating the rich diversity of global cultures.
The Three Little Pigs by award-winning duo Stiles and Drewe will open at the Unicorn on 27th September and run until 2nd November. This co-production with Chichester Festival Theatre is perfect for children aged 3-7 and promises catchy songs, humour, and fun as piglets Bar, Bee, and Q set off into the big wide world against the big bad wolf.
Returning to the Unicorn following a sold-out run in 2023, Anansi the Spider will be performed from 3rd October to 16th November. Adapted from West African and Caribbean folk tales, this production is a co-production with Birmingham Rep and will be directed by Unicorn’s Associate Director Robin Belfield.
Opening in November, the world premiere of How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney? will run from 15th November to 3rd January. This comic Christmas caper, adapted from Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen’s picture book, is the Unicorn’s first co-production with Told by an Idiot. It promises a thrilling fusion of physical comedy, live music, and anarchic fun for audiences aged 2 to 102.
Rounding off the season is Scrunch, a multi-sensory experience for children aged 6 to 18 months and their grown-ups. Created by Sarah Argent and Kevin Lewis, this piece will run from 30th November to 4th January as part of the Unicorn Theatre’s Early Years programme.
Rachel Bagshaw, Artistic Director of the Unicorn, comments, “Here at the Unicorn, we are deeply committed to offering the highest quality of work to young audiences, and this season exemplifies that. It’s a joy to curate a programme where we can introduce children to such a diverse range of stories and experiences, from sensory delights for our littlest theatre-goers to exciting musical adventures for our younger years.”
