Tobias Turley stars in White Rose: The Musical in its UK premiere. This inspiring true story of student resistance in Nazi Germany comes to London’s Marylebone Theatre after a successful Off-Broadway run.

Tobias Turley, known for his role in Mamma Mia The Musical, will portray Hans in this powerful musical about courage and defiance. The production promises to bring a compelling historical narrative to life through music and drama.

White Rose: The Musical runs from Thursday 27 February to Sunday 13 April, 2025, at the Marylebone Theatre.

You’re starring in White Rose: The Musical at Marylebone Theatre, what can you tell us about the show?

White Rose is an amazing true story about a group of German university students and their professor who write and distribute leaflets detailing why the German people need to resist the Nazi party and their destruction of Germany. This tragic story is told with amazing music and a brilliant libretto.

How does your character, Hans, fit into the story of White Rose: The Musical?

Hans is the leader of the White Rose and brother to Sophie Scholl our protagonist. He is the link between the other university students and Sophie. He helps to orchestrate the group’s next moves and write the leaflets.

What has been the most challenging aspect of preparing for this role?

This is my first time portraying a real person. So I want to ensure I do justice to Hans and also create an interesting and endearing character to watch on stage.

Can you share a memorable moment from the rehearsal process so far?

Hearing our full company sing the finale was a very memorable moment for me. They sound absolutely phenomenal, and it’s such a powerful song it’s hard not to get emotional.

How does White Rose: The Musical differ from other productions you’ve been part of?

I would say this production differs to others I have done because it is a true story, but also it’s a story that I reckon not many audience members will know about. We don’t learn about the White Rose in our schools so I’m really excited to spread the word of this amazing group and hopefully teach people about their incredible resistance.

What would you say to anyone thinking of booking to see White Rose: The Musical?

I would encourage absolutely everyone to see this because it’s such an important story that more people need to know about and to learn from. This story is so relevant today and everyone could do with walking away from the production having learned something.
